Why are open houses important? Truly in today’s environment the open house happens online. Whether it is the photos or video of your property this is the first experience someone gets of your listing. A picture or video only tells a small part of the story. Actual physical open house is a great way to showcase the spacial relationship in every room, features of the home. Open houses are a great way for a potential buyer to see your property. It allows you to designate the times at which you will have multiple people come in and also builds buzz for your listing. You never know where your buyer may come from an open house is one such potential way.
Prepping your home for an open house is very important. You will want to streamline every room, reduce clutter and clean. You will want to remove any personal photos of you and your family. This allows the potential buyer to envision themselves in the home. We want them to feel that they can make this their home as opposed to buying someone else’s home. Closets jammed with clothes and articles should be decluttered. Each room should be staged for optimal presentation. Getting your home company ready is a process. It may take you a day or two or I could take you a week just depending on how packed your house is. This is a great time to start packing or selling those items that aren’t used and getting ready for your eventual move. We highly recommend contacting a licensed real estate professional who can work with you and help you get your home ready for your open house.
